Welcome Elder! BJF Nov 14 2016 Deutschland

Mission Pres and his wife were so hospitable and anxious to meet every new recruit!

Subject: Re: First P-day in the "Deutchl"

So, I've been in Germany for about a week now. And I've decided to write "mass emails" to basically sum up what's been going on. Essentially so everybody at home will know what's happening and I won't waste time telling everyone the same thing separately.
I still want to talk to y'all individually, but everybody is gonna get the big email in addition to your individual responses. Woohoo

SO FÜR MEINE ERSTE GROSS EMAIL DAS ICH WERDEN ZU SIE SCHICKEN.
Being in Germany is freaking weird. The first area I've been assigned to is a city called 'Offenbach' I've been told that most the Germans think of it as sorta an armpit of Germany. Plus when you speak to somebody they're usually speaking Deutsche/Turkish/Russian/English/who the heck knows. The city is about 70% immigrants so it's a big pot of stuff. ANYWHO I'm getting better with German but it's nowhere near good enough to actively converse with anybody so my trainer does the talking. I'll keep praying for it because the gift of tongues may sound like voodoo but it's actually a real thing.

The city itself is pretty different, the roads are half the size so the cars are too but I guess that's Europe. Also there is graffiti just about everywhere, idk if that's all of Germany or just Frankfurt and Offenbach (cuz I haven't seen the rest of Germany yet). Also everything here is just weird enough to throw me off. The toilets are weird shapes the light switches are totally different, I can't read anything I buy at the store and there are trains where people and cars go. We spend lots of time on buses and trains so we see all sorts of people.

So my companion is pretty dope, he's a homeschooled kid from Utah, he's been out almost 20 months and is as awkward as a tomato with an elbow. Although he's a pretty good missionary, he's very focused on the work we have and is teaching me a lot. He's an excellent companion, Although he is a bit oblivious.
We don't teach a whole lot, it's mainly just appointments falling through and talking to people on the street. Offenbach isn't exactly open to religion. But we're here to find the specific people that are ready for truth, I just haven't found any in my first week(not like I expected to).

Anywho it's pretty tough but nothing I can't handle, I'll have fun stories later I promise. I love seeing yo faces so email me whenever you please.
Oh We're also allowed to listen to music so in addition to all the pictures y'all send me (which I love) you could send MP3 files. So long as it doesn't distract from the spirit, so like classical music, hymns, some alternative or calm rock songs, Disney, pretty much any songs that are peaceful or pleasant.

Love- Elder Fuller

P.s. the food is Okay but I'm not impressed yet.

 Wonderful companions
Both home schooled Benjamin's.  He's from Utah!
