Week 100 DTF NOV

Daniel is back in Mombasa where he started to finish up his mission.

We are thrilled to talk to him next week for Christmas and then pick him up at the airport 8 days later!!!

Week 94 DTF OCT

Elders Tucker, Jack and Fuller enjoying the heck out of their last moments together since this was E. Tucker's last Sunday. It was a spirit filled meeting when he was able to testify of the truthfulness of the gospel and how much he enjoyed serving in Kenya. He was given the robes from the Masai people but the spear was given to him by someone passing by who thought it would complete the outfit.

Week 100 BJF OCT

Week 90 DTF SEP

There are so many grateful to hear the good news the gospel brings. Daniel loves teaching them about Jesus Christ and his restored church.

Week 96 BJF SEP

Elders Fuller and Gregory

These companions made matching ties to greet Elder Uchtdorf. It was a great blessing for them to hear him and his wife speak in pure German since she grew up right there in Frankfurt.

Week 86 BJF Jul

He is saying schlingel which I thought was squirrel, but it means rascal hahahaha!!

Watch here @ In the Treetops

Ayyy momma,
I did where my socks. Sadly that was the only patriotic part of today/yesterday. Hard to celebrate with only two Americans who are too busy doing other stuff. (See attached photo)

That must've been quite the show with Dad. His guitar skills have always been low key but when he whips them out it's always cool.
That really is quite a way to celebrate haha.

I did get the folk music indeed. I had already been laughing for three or four songs by the time E. Davis filmed it. It just tickled me just right haha. Even funnier is what some of the lines are. In one the guy says "the mountains are my chapel and the yodel is my prayer, I just really hope God can understand it." (In German of course) That one killed me when I first heard it. Course it's with a thick Swiss accent so E. Davis didn't get it the first time and just looked at me like I was crazy haha.

These next two transfers will be my last two so if President Boyer wants me anywhere else he'll need to move me now. Otherwise I'll end here. E Davis and I keep arguing about who's moving first since we both got here at the same time.

Yee,
Love ya mama, thanks for the update, thanks for the support, thanks in advance for the Root Beer, have some photos.

Not too much time so I'll stick with short answers for now.

What sort of exciting or harrowing experiences have you had recently?
None to talk about really.

Are your Gs holding up okay and do you have a place to buy new ones? I think im going to ask Daniel to bring some back since they're cheap there. The ones I have will last til December...maybe

Do you have a senior couple anywherenear you in the mish? In our district we have the Whittakers. They are lovely. Senior couples are amazing.

What is your favorite part of the day?
Sleeping

What is the hardest thing you do with your comp?
I dunno, it's all equally strenuous or it's easy. No middle ground.

Have you welcomed any cats or birds into your flat?
Not yet.

Do you ever wish you were in China?
No, but Japan sounds like an awesome mission.

Do you feel fat?
Quite the opposite, I feel like I'm wasting away.

Love ya, we'll see if I get around to answering Rachel's questions too. She has a lot more haha.

-Elder Fuller

Externsteine - A group of rocks in the Teutoburg Forest near Horn-Bad-Meinberg, in the Lippe region, in North Rhine-Westphalia. It consists of a colossal pillars and blocks of sandstone stretching from the northwest to the southeast for almost a kilometer of a row, some of them falling down and representing huge, almost sheer walls.

Week 87 DTF Aug

They are filling the baptismal font watch it here @ Dan's African Mask

I decided to do a Q&A letter. This way I get more info out of my hurried elder. He doesn't have a lot of time to write. Tho other elders do great. It may be that he doesn't like to write, ha.

Are you staying in touch with Ben?

Yeah we are staying in touch but I have no idea what he is up to haha we mainly just crack jokes and make puns over thousands of miles haha.

Are there other elders you are writing or that write you? Are you in touch with Ryan? Is he liking his mission at this point?

Yeah I try to stay in touch with some people as much as time allows. I am talking to ryan every week but it's usually pretty short cuz we both are low on time.

Do you have a microwave or only stove?

Yes the mission got microwaves a month before I came out here which is nice! heating up day old rice has never been easier! haaha

Do you have refrigeration and ice?

Yes and No

Are you walking a lot in Kisimu or mostly matatus?

Walking 70% of the time but when we go to the other side of our area we take a matatu.

How far to church?
A 5 minute walk. it's in the same area we all stay in

What is the senior couple's name? Are they close by?
They are the brady's and yeah they stay about 10 minutes away and they are completely out of their minds haha but nice people.

Will you be in Nairobi this month?
No but I will be going to Eldoret for zone conference on Wednesday or Thursday it's about a 4 hour drive

Are your G's holding up okay?
Yeah I have mesh so they are easy to take care of, easy to hand wash, and really cool in hot weather, plus garments here are SOOOO cheap so I'm gonna load up on a ton when I'm getting ready to come home, let me know if y'all want me to bring you some

Does anyone play piano at church?
Yeah sister brady does but it also has hymns recorded on it so if they are not there it will just play by it's self.

Are you one of the best singers?
For american standards yeah haha but kenyans think I sing weird.

Are you still with E. Shongwe?
Yup still hanging with james url jones, The next transfer is on the 26th of august so maybe I will go this month or maybe next time haha.

Are you posting more pictures this week?
I forgot my sd crad stick thingy so hopefully next week but I need to take more pictures first haa....sorry.

Did you get all the candy Rach sent you?
The one she sent me while she was on mission, yes. if she sent me another one...then no

Are you loving life?
Yes! but I have an ear infection and I just got medicine today so hopefully that will help. Nothing to worry about please dont freak out haha.

What is the weirdest thing you have dealt with this week?
We have ad to deal with this crazy old lady who we contacted at a food place, we thought she was normal just a little strange but she has been calling us everyday saying the same unintelligible nonsense every time. We dont know her real name she just always refers to herself as "mother in law" We gave her a pamphlet the first time we met her and now she carries it everywhere she goes and is completely bonkers hahaha we have only seen her twice in public but she legit calls everyday at least once.

Do you wish you were a liger?
Yeah sometimes but I dont think I would be into the whole eating raw meat deal. haha.

Love you guys! this was a great idea I hope I answered everything to your liking!

Week 79 RLF Jun

SHE'S HOME!!!

A wonderful feeling when you know you have accomplished all that was required of you to serve a full-time mission! She had such a great learning experience and shared how each of her companions helped her learn a characteristic of Christ they each taught her during each transfer.  It was beautiful how the Lord led her to full conversion that finally took place in her final transfer as she became trainer. Although she will say Hermana Helton trained her.  She reported that it was an irreplaceable experience, joyful memories to last an eternity.

Week 80 DTF Jul

Out exploring with Elder Card and comps.

I love the panoramic shots.

Okay! so here is a lovely update.

Elder bigirindavy has gone to mautuma which is the last bush in the mission, Sadly they closed all the bush areas I was serving but I am super happy I got to go there and learn from those people and hopefully bring them closer to God.

I'm still up in kisumu, we had to go to Nairobi last week for a big immigration thingy which was weird. BUT I found a nice door frame basket ball hoop that the assistants just gave to me so I was pretty stoked!! I am back with Mufasa, Elder Shongwe which is awesome because I flipping Love the lad. when he says prayers he legit sounds exactly like James earl Jones and the way he says "butter nut" makes me laugh every time.

"Jacob Zuma's head looks like a butter nut" - Elder Shongwe

There are these really cool birds here that when they see one of their bird homies they make this hooting and then when they get to the same tree they laugh like a monkey and it always puts a smile on my face.

My Kenyan sign language is getting pretty good, sister Doreen was baptized and has been bringing her deaf friends to church and I have been able to talk to all of them which is pretty slick.
The branch is super cool and I love it, especially the branch president, president Okila
He is a huge luo guy who always messes up peoples names and calls all of us missionaries his sons. Good man for sure. There is this guy we work with named brother Osimbo and his head legit looks like mega mind and he knows it. the mega mind jokes have been too strong for the past few weeks.

But yeeeeehs the work is good and people are great most of the time and God is good all of the time.

I love you all and miss you all and hope to see you when I get back!!!

Kisimu is the mission area closest to Lake Victoria. One of the great lakes of Africa named after Queen Vicky!

Here doggy, doggy...

Beautiful cheetah!
The meeting house in Kisimu.

You can see his laundry all clean and air drying.
