Provo MTC

The One Ring! It's a good story.  You see when he got his call to serve in Russia, he chose an amazing CTR ring written in Cyrillic.  I had the inside engraved that said, 2016-2018 Return With Honor We love you Benjamin!  He loved it and sized it up to wear on his pointer finger.  Well during the summer he went with a friend to Missouri on a hunting trip.  Slept in a sleeping bag and of course, came home without his ring and he felt disappointed.  I made some inquiries because I just couldn't 'let it go'.  With all the fields, houses, gas stations and cars he was in, how could it possibly be found?  But lo, and behold!  The kind owners of the sleeping bag he borrowed found it in the bottom.  Good glory!  (as Ben would say)  So I sent our address and a request with my dear friend who asked if they could mail it back to us post haste so he would have it to wear on his mission.  Well, I am not ratting this family out, but they sent it in a regular business sized envelope.  The ring is over a quarter inch thick.  When the letter arrived, it looked like someone had torn a hole in it and of course, no ring.  We immediately thought it was stolen and I resolved to maybe buy him another, although the money needed to go for many other things.  Again, I just couldn't let this go because it was engraved in a red velvet box and the boy loved it so very much.  He let it go right away since it is just a thing, after all.  I looked at that envelope again and saw that it actually looked like it tore itself out maybe.  Then I realized in the sorter of the mailroom, it squishes things down and of course a metal piece would shoot out rather than go through on the conveyor belt.  So I filed a lost item report with the post office.  But you see, there wasn't enough time.  I had to dig a little deeper, so I actually called the small town it was mailed from.  She was the only one in the little post office and it didn't have a sorter.  But she did have the number and a person who might be able to help me in the bigger post office with a sorter.  After several different people and a couple days with messages and an entirely different crew working on my online lost item request, I finally made contact with a very kind lady that said she had just seen a ring a few weeks earlier.  Then she told me there is a huge room with unclaimed items where these things go because most people figure it is lost in the mail and simply replace it.  Well I am not most people and in this case, I was curious.  She actually left the phone where I could hear her as she went through several items. It took about 10 minutes to find what she thought may be the one ring.  She asked me to describe it in detail if I could.  Well I definitely could!  How many rings are out there with such a description?  I was able to define the symbols on the outside for her and she couldn't even read the inside but that was good enough!  I think I screamed a bit loudly in her ear and thanked her profusely for restoring my hope in the USPS!!  She said she would put it in a box that day and I didn't have to pay.  You should have seen the box.  It had every tape imaginable because that postal worker was not going to let that box get lost anywhere, no way, no how!  I was so thrilled to surprise him with it again in a package I sent to the mTc.  He was thrilled and held it up there to match me holding it up here.  The one true ring found its home again after a few dark days in the bottom of a sleeping bag in Missouri.  Tender Mercies!

I GET A LETTER?!?! YEEEE I love getting stuff, and this will probably be the last time ya'll can send me anything CUZ I'LL BE IN DEUTSCHELAND IN 9 DAYS. Can I get some more printed photos as well? Especially that last photo I took with Dan and Rachel, I love that one. maybe make it wallet sized? Also I could use more duct tape and a black sharpie. Other than that what ever ya'll send I love.
SO I had to go to the travel office to figure out my flight plans back on Monday or Tuesday idk when. And I saw Dallin as he was shipping out.

.Cousin Dallin serving in France, same time at MTC (the tall guy, I can see the resemblance)

I told him he'll do great and I look forward to hearing about his stories.
Yeah I'm still with Elder Moon, and he still sucks but I'm learning to ignore it. In the mtc we get the one Companion, then when we get to the field we have our trainer for 12 weeks. After that every transfer is 6 weeks and sometimes you don't get transferred so it depends on the assignments. I can't wait to meet my trainer he's gonna be my beste fruende. Also for baggage I should have asked Dad this but could you let me know how much I've got on my USAA card? That way I'll know what I should use it for.
My sleep has improved, I'm on the sleep schedule now but that will change when I'm in Germany. Don't worry about the umbrella I'll get that in Germany. I think I understand the umbrella concept. Maybe they have it on the German amazon.
I LOVE YOU TOO MOMMA AND I WILL SEND PICTURES ALTHOUGH I DON'T HAVE MANY YET.
The first ones are my process through the day. The others are random.

Love -Elder Fuller
